Yep thanks for the link. I already had a look at it before posting.

However they charge 9£ for delivery to Belgium on the top of the 15£ for the fan ( which is, I have to admit, already really high for a 20dB noise fan).

I'm sorry but 24£ is expensive for this product. No offense.

I agree with that, it was just to give you an idea about the availability. More retailers should be able to deliver them. What about your retailer? Or VU+ themselves?

Although that looks like a std 50x10x10 fan, I would check it out first, as IIRC that is the same as used in the Linkstation NAS devices, and the mounting holes are slight different to a std fan. So you can only get 1 or two screws in correctly if you use a generic replacement instead.

id love to know alternative internal fan replacment , as i now got a 1tb 2.5 inch drive 5200rpm which is really silent, but i can hear internal fan at night, so alternative lower rpm would be great :D

It regulates the RPM of the fan according to the temperature (as the diagram in the pdf shows).
For acquiring it you will have to Google or ask your local computer parts supplier.

My Problem is that I got this one to replace the original fan in my Vu http://www.aimaxx.com/en/catalog/envicooler-5 .

This was recommended by some forums.

However in my case it is not spinning when it is connected to the Vu.

LOL, you shouldn't believe every one.
Problem is the voltage: if you measure it without any load, it's 12V all right. But as soon as any load is on it, it will drop to 5V or so. That is fine for the original fan, but not for most alternatives.

Alternatively you can draw the current from the HDD-connector: that will do for your fan.

Why mess around with third party fans when u can buy genuine  It probably requires more voltage than the Duo supplies to it, if so your running the risk of damaging your hardware.
