View Full Version : Trying to figure out dreamboxedit basics - replacing bouquet

Someone on a forum has given me a bouquet which has local DTT channels for me, and I'd like to replace the existing bouquet (silverfoxes/alice excellent work via the plugins) with this one I've been given.

dreamboxedit is connected to my vu+ duo

The steps I planned to take were to make the connection, open the new bouquet and push this bouquet up to the vu+

But, when I try to open the new bouquet, I'm told that .... contains no file called 'services', you must use connect the dreambox to the PC first. If I go to receive files from the dreambox, it warns me that some files may be overwritten, and I'm concerned about overwriting the new bouquet. As you can see, I'm a bit confused about how to use this tool.

I've tried this video -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH6fYthSPw0&noredirect=1, this one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eb7rh1LDp0, and after I got a few pages in the newbie thread, http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?213-Basic-newbie-setup-procedure-for-VU-Duo-for-Dummies I thought it might be easier for all to start my own thread instead of adding to that one.

Anyone have any links that can help me figure this out, please?

put the bouquet that you want into the root file for the dreamboxedit, open dreamboxedit, load the bouquets that are in the dreamboxedit root files [ with the new bouquet that you put in there earier ] and then send them up to your box, then do a scan, and i believe this should give you the new service file that the new bouquets needs, if everything gots to plan, then back up the bouquets on your box to your pc [ the dreamboxedit root file ]

Enigma2 settings don't have a file called "services". DreamboxEdit thinks you are loading an enigma1 file so you need to look at your profile settings in DreamboxEdit

Tools --> Options --> Profiles

make sure its set to Enigma2

Updating to the latest version of Dreamboxedit and using your advice seems to have sorted this out for me, thanks.
