block ip address

is there a method of blocking an external ip address from pinging my vu+. did a bit of research and what was suggested was to use the iptables command but this does not seem to be available when i telnet into the vu+. i tried to do this via my modem but sadly it does not seem to be possible. thanks

If you have port forwarding on your router forward the ip address to a port that you do not use or email the user and ask him to delete your line
