i read in other forums that 720p is better than 1080i, is that true ? my TV is the latest 3D LED Samsung 40".

In my opinion it is especialy if you watch fast moving things on the tv like football for example,with 720p you will not see the ball shudder as much

Depends on the TV. I have a new Panny GT30 and it's the best picture I've ever seen on a TV (1080i). Older TV's tend to look better on 720p.

My experience is That it is tv depending. 1080i at friends place is not so good as 720p. At my place 1080i is better. Same et5000 different lcd tv

For years there are lot's of discussions about this. Without going into that, I would say that if a source is in 1080i there's not much point in letting the STB scale that down to 720p is there?
I think the very best thing to do is to use the AutoResolutionPlugin in such a way that what comes in also goes out (i.e. no scaling by the box, only by the TV if any scaling would be needed).

atm I only use it for 1080p24 settings, so not very interesting.
Attached you find a manual; it's in German, I hope that's no problem?
