All,

I have a 7020 that I use with VU duo.
Its on openpli and has fixed 28.2 dish with Rytec EPG.

The thing is that its super unstable.
I think its down to EPG or how PLi uses EPG on the 7020.
Be it a memory problem or something.

I have virtually no plugins installed to free up as much resources as possible.
I have EPG set to 5 days.

The box freezes most of the time when I open the channels list or EPG. It does seem better if the EPG is empty.

Has anyone a good combination of image and UK epg that works as stable as PLi and Rytec on VU.

Compared to the VU they are light years appart on performance and reliability (excl HD) but as I have it I wouldnt mind using it.

Was going to switch to a cheap HD but options are limited (TM800HD doesnt look good, DM500hd and 800hd seems to have their issues and the solo is a tad dear for a second box)...

Have you tried PLi Jade on the 7020? I set my mother up a couple of years back with PLi Jade, never had any issues. Not setup any kind of EPG though, so that could be the difference.

Thanks for the replies all.

I think its an EPG issue too.

The EPG.dat is on a compact flash.
But I think it loads it to memory on startup.
So I might just reset it to 1 days epg as that would be enough.

Just shows that users of other linux boxes can only appreciate the quality of the VU Duo..
Is the solo as good ? Dont see much discussion on it.

Solo is a very good piece of kit, work straight away with VTI 4.9, zapping is as fast as the Duo and I've managed to record 2 HD channels and watch a third HD channel on the same transponder.
