meaning of the update warning please ?

if i go into settings-network-and then press blue buttom
i am offered a update
TM800_IQ-2011-11-08.BIN

but when i download it then i get a warning saying something like
do you really want too update "above file" warning after updating you will loose all settings except emul config

what does this mean ?
will it affect var/etc cccam.cfg file for instance ? ?

a new re-flash wiped the flash memory of the box meaning you will loose every thing including the cfg files so back them up and keep them safe just incase ( which you should already be doing any way )

i do have my cccam.cfg file backed up , is that the only one i need t back up and is the update really necessary ?
will i see any benefits from the update ?.

you should also have your chanels settings back-up, Dbedit is a good program, and have a CCcam on your computer to reinstall if needed...

Hi i have a tm 800 hd and i currantly run this firmware TM800 iQ-DW mod 2011-11-28.rar its a slightly cleaned/tweeked IQ Image 2011-11-28 from here:

You can find info about it here: http://www.*************.co.uk/tm800hd.html and some other useful fixes for the box. Still no timeshift on this but it gets the box working pretty good for now, technomate have also released theTM800 source code for the PUBLIC here: http://www.*************.co.uk/250263-tm800-source-code-public.html.
I dont know the first thing about the program coding for the source code but does look promising if others take a look and can/willing to sort it out finally.
