When I flash over the latest ViX image to my ET9200 when I go to backup or image manager there will be options. If I set it up i.e. add bouquets and CCcam neither no longer works and appears with the message 'there was a problem with this device, please reformat'.

I have tried reflashing it several times now, also tried other versions of CCcam.

Anyone any suggestions really dont want to have to try another image as apart from this issue I love the image.

Try to run a update via a telnet session.

login to the box via telent and issue the following command.

opkg update && opkg upgrade
allow this to complete and then issue this command

shutdown -r now

let me know what if any thing happens.

Use putty mate?

yes you can use putty although i prefer to use the inbuilt windows telnet client in windows 7 as i find it faster to do what i need directly from the command line rather than a third party application.

You will need to enable telnet first in windows 7
Start
Control Panel
Programs And Features
Turn Windows features on or off
Check Telnet Client
Hit OK
After that you can start Telnet via Command Prompt.

in the run box type cmd
In the dos box type in telnet and your box ip address telnet 123.456.7.89

ahh dont forget though if you do use the windows telnet client you have to type a o as in oscar ( lower case ) in then a space before you enter the ip address otherwise it wont work.

so for example
o 192.168.0.17

then hit enter and you will be provided with a login prompt.

no worries mate, the shutdown -r now command was the command to safely reboot the box, let me know if the box updated to the newest image you can check by menu>information ( off the top of my head ) the newest image is build 161 then try a backup see if it completes etc.

do you have a HDD fitted or a USB stick mounted ? and to change the location hit the menu button while in the backup manager and go from there.

hi mate no HDD attached waiting on it being delivered. Can attach a USB.

Also getting the same message when I go in to Image manager.

Thats your problem mate, it wont allow you to backup to the flash as you would very quickly fill that up and cause no end of problems. insert a USB stick and make sure you mount it as USB under the mount manager in the blue button > ViX section.

you can also use the same usb to store picons and EPG data for the box along with image backups and settings backups. thats what i do on my Uno and Duo.
