webIf username and password question

Not sure if this is a really silly one. Is it possible to have a different username and password for the WebIf interface, than that of the root user on the box?

I just think security wise this would make more sense. If it is possible, which I'm guessing is telnet commands, what will I require to do this?

I would not bother. As long as you have password on telnet than that is enough, If some one is clever enough to crack your home network than your last worrie is the STB.

Also the new webif has authenitcation and if you really are worried enable this in

Menu>plugins>openwebif
