Hey,

My box randomly freezes and reboots whilst downloading the summaries for 28.2E.

It was fine last week and the weeks before that. :confused:

Thoughts?

Which box are we talking about? If it is a 256MB box (DUO, ET5x00), it is a restart without crash (no black screen of death and no crashreport) and this specifically only happens during this download it might help to activate a SWAP-file.

During the download & parsing process a lot of RAM is needed; depending on the settings you used this might exceed the available memory. This is the only situation in which the use of swap can be useful.
We are working on an enhancement that a temp. swap-file will be created during the import process.

The EPG is on the hard drive.

The box freezes during the download of summaries for Sky UK, VIX logo spins and the box just reboots without going black.

I'm on VIX 2.3 and CrossEPG is set up correctly.

OK, so the advise is to activate a swap-file and report on the results after a download.

Sorry but how do I go about activating a swap-file?

Blue button>vix>swap manager

Will ask you for size of swapm manager and where to create it.

Menu --> Setup --> ViX --> SwapManager --> Create (green) etc.

make sure the device you are trying to create a swap on is EXT3/EXT4 otherwise the device wont be listed
