urgent help needed

i have put the latest dream elite on my vu duo plus and it wont work properly now.

it shows starting on the screen panel and then nothing else happens

is there anything i can do to get past this please

first try pulling the power lead and reconnect.
if it still dont work something went wrong with the install, so do a reinstall.

Dont panic either, linux units are actully hard to break

how do i do a reinstall because neither the vuutil nor the E2 dcc will now connect with it

no still the same im afraid

use a USB mem stick....use the front usb socket

download the usb update file (dreamelite or what ever image you want)
copy it onto a fat3 formatted usb stick
switch off the unit...place the usb in the front slot
restart
wait for the image loaded / remove usb message, should take about 2 minutes
turn off the unit, remove usb,..reboot

tried this but i cant get that to work either
maybe the file is not loaded into the usb right

nope just formatted usb with fat32
added in files as indicated
put it in front and even the rear
nothing happening
still says starting

hmm...the other option is to use a null modem, but not as yet done this on the VU myself...but it is a long process, about an hour
but please do not worry, i am sure there is a solution,...where are you based?? (do not be to precise)

there might be some one near you that can help directly

how long are you giving it after you see the "starting" message?

it can take a couple of minutes sometimes to go to the next stage, which when waiting for something to happen can seem like an eternity.

Oh and are you sure your usb pen is ok?, it might format ok but still might not save the data correctly.

I'm guessing the box doesn't like your usb stick, I tried 3 before I could get one to work. Do you have any others to try with ?

Also, when formatting using usb, make sure you remove any usb sticks that are in the back if you have any... Just use it in the front...

i managed to get the vutil to work on it and reflashed and now its fine
