Hi.
Can someone clarify where it's at regarding the bootloader upgrade? Am I right in thinking all new images will require this?
At the mo. I am on Vix 2.2 as I gather 2.3 has problems.
Is the way to go to wait for Vix 2.4 before upgrading the bootloader?

what problems do you think 2.3 has ?. as for 2.4 thats not even in planning yet, we've only just released 2.3.

when i upgraded the boot loader on my ET5000 vix 2.2 still loaded & seemed to operate fine i think the issue is once you have flashed 2.3 there is no way back to 2.2, but there is probably no reason to upgrade the boot loader if you are not going to upgrade to 2.3 :-)

well thats certainly not a ViX problem but rather to do with the bootloader as released by the manufacturer.

Ahem more confusion - I think it's the 2.3 image on the Xtrend that has problems with the new bootloader and not the VU!

That would seem to be a major reason NOT to upgrade the bootloader.

Never had any issues with et5k and bootloader but i have no reason to downgrade to any image other than to use the latest one

Bear in mind 2.3 is better and on new linux, its every reason to upgrade as in time you will be able to use DVB S2 and T2 USB tuners with the box but if your happy with what you got by all means stick with it.

my ET5000 seems to be running fine with 2.3 no complaints from me .
