Hindi language films channel UTV Movies India is to launch on Sky next week, bringing "the passion and flair of Bollywood to the UK".
UTV Movies India will start broadcasting on December 12 at channel 797 on Sky's electronic programme guide. It will show Hindi language films with English subtitles.
The channel, a household name in India, will uphold the promise of 'Jeeyo Bollywood', or 'living the Bollywood dream', by delivering "quality and uplifting content" through its own library of films and partnerships with studios in the Hindi film industry.
UTV Movies has an archive of more than 400 movies, including recent titles like Guzaarish, No One Killed Jessica, Tees Maar Khan, Tere Bin Laden and Kartik Calling Kartik.
The carriage deal between UTV and Sky was brokered by TVMedia3, and advertising on the channel will be handled by Sky's sales house, Sky Media.
UTV's chief executive of broadcasting MK Anand said: "With the launch of UTV Movies India in the UK we further expand our international footprint.
