Richard Desmond's Channel 5 has confirmed that a timeshifted channel of its main network will launch next week on terrestrial and satellite television.

According to BARB data and promotional adverts currently airing on television, Channel 5+1 will launch on Freesat, Freeview and Sky on December 6.

Electronic programme guide (EPG) numbers for the channel have not yet been announced.

The channel, which will air programmes such as CSI, Neighbours and children's show Milkshake an hour later than their scheduled start times, is expected to come to Virgin Media in early 2012.

Channel 5+1 will join the broadcaster's existing one-hour timeshifted channels of digital networks 5* and 5USA.

ITV launched a +1 channel of ITV1 in January this year, while Channel 4+1 has been broadcasting since August 2008.

The launch of Channel 5+1 will mean that BBC One and BBC Two will be the only main public service channels not to offer a timeshift network on digital TV platforms.

They are good imo, for when you completely forget about something, or start watching it, and thinking it looks quite a good program, and want to watch from beginning...

+1 are good especially when you have recording conflicts, but pity not in HD, we have become spoilt and just cant watch SD.
