View Full Version : cam 2.2.1 on vu+solo
Hi, i have tried unsuccessfully now for three days to install 2.2.1 on my vu+solo. I put it in the tmp folder using ftp. I then go into my vu+solo/menu/setup/vix/install local extensions and select it to install using green button. It asks to restart GUI and i do. I then go to softcam manager/and theres nothing there. When i install 2.14 it is there. Any ideas please?
which version are you using as you need one from the following repository to work with vix
http://www.4shared.com/dir/wnyHV50A/VIX_CAMS.html
enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.2.1_1.0-r2_mipsel.ipk
have you tried using ViX 2.3 ?
Yeah, last night. Same result. Not sure why it happens and ok with 2.1.4
strange as 2.2.1 worked fine for me with ViX 2.2 and still does with ViX 2.3
Sorry for this but i'm a noob...do i still install enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.2.1_1.0-r2_mipsel.ipk after installing vix2.3 as i have tried this.
yes install ViX 2.3 as normal. then you FTP the .ipk file to the /tmp folder and go from there.
Must be something else so as that's exactly what I've done. Thanks for the help man.
try the one from the 4shared repository named
enigma2-plugin-cams-cccam.2.2.1_1.0-r0_mipsel.ipk
make sure you delete any other copies you have though.
just thought i would sugest another method that i use sometimes.
instead of using ftp,use ipk installer
Yeah, i ftp it in but then i ipk it from receiver but no joy. thanks though.
Tried that but same result.
Can i run vix 2.3 successfully using cam2.1.4?
yes there is no reason why it would not work, if your happy running CCcam 2.1.4 then go for it.
What ftp program are u using to transfer the files over to the box
I'm using filezilla. Went over to a friends to his vu. I installed vix2.3 no bother. I then ftp'd in cam 2.2.1 and everything works. My box is a week old. His is 1yr old. Could there be a difference there somehow?
Hi all, glad to report that I got it sorted. I went round to my friends house and installed vix 2.3 and cam 2.2.1 with no problems. I took a pic of the contents of his temp folder and compared it with mine. Inside mine was a file called cam.socket or something like that. I deleted it and hey presto everything works. Idon't know how it got there or what it's for but it's gone now. Thanks to all for the advice. Much appreciated.:)
I had a similar issue with the cam not installing but tried the other CCcam and it installled fine, didn't have to delete any files in the tmp folder.
It was strange as after an install the IPK was still there:confused:
Must be something else so as that's exactly what I've done. Thanks for the help man.
