settings backup when changing image

i remember reading a thread on backing up your settings on your VU+ DUO before you change your image.
my motor for some reason doesnt like usals so i manually search for each sat but its a ball acke changing images so im scared to make changes.
can someone point me to the thread on the subject ?.
