Robert Owens from Milton Keynes was given a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years
A motorcyclist who filmed himself speeding at 150mph and put the footage on the internet has been sentenced to 51 weeks jail, suspended for two years.
At Aylesbury Crown Court, Robert Mark Owens, 48, of Whaddon Way, Bletchley, Milton Keynes, admitted dangerous driving and was banned for five years.
He used a helmet-mounted camera to record himself on four occasions in April 2011.
Some of the footage was uploaded on to the social networking site YouTube.
The videos, filmed in Milton Keynes and Bletchley, showed Owens doing wheelies, riding on footpaths and weaving in and out of traffic.
He was arrested after police received an anonymous call about the videos.
In addition to the ban and suspended sentence Owens was told at the court sitting in Amersham that he must complete 150 hours community work, his bike has been confiscated and he has been given 10 points on his licence.
PC Steve Roebuck said: "This was amongst the worst examples of dangerous driving I have seen during my time as a police officer, and the fact Owens willingly put himself and others in such danger almost beggars belief.
"It is a miracle he survived many of the situations he put himself in and to upload this footage on to a social networking site to boast about what he had done is abhorrent.
"In his own words he has accepted that he was 'an accident waiting to happen'."

This is the reason I hate all those adverts saying stuff like "Careful, motorbike". Maybe the motorbike rider should be more careful himself... If a car indicates to turn out, the biker shouldn't try and overtake, and should just slow down like cars do!!!

Really gets on my nerves, as I've had loads of times where a biker has endangered themselves that I've seen (and nearly been involved in), and it annoys me that I'll likely be the one who gets judged and put at fault, even though it's clearly the biker at fault!

** Rant over ** :D :p

while i think this guy is a total moron i my self have ridden bikes for well over 20 years and almost every one in a car has a utter loathing for those of us on a bike to the point they deliberately pull out on us.

i wont even think of defending this guy but its the car drivers on mass who need to go back and re-sit their driving tests.

Well I am a biker/car driver, ( since the early 70,s )

I have lost a few good freinds due to bike accidents, most were just very unlucky, ie, new motorway bridge being built, concrete girder dropped to the road below, leaving a small crator, a day later, my mate following a lorry, came off his bike, after hitting the "small crator" and fell into the path of an oncoming car, another mate lost it on a bend ( autum leaves on road ) and got graroted on a barbed wire fence

one got it by bad riding, end of, ( I was there )

the worst culprats for the kind of thing on the vidio, is "born again bikers", I was out with a few of these types, about 18 months ago, and watched them carve up cars on a ride from chester to bala in north wales, the speeds they got too were extreme, "cutting in" at the last moment, on one occasion, so bad, the the ensueing braking cars, ( a que of about 5 cards ) nearly led to his mate joining other past bilkers, as he to was cutting in, ( I by the way, was well back, playing catchup when possible, but this last incident, caused me to give up, and go to my normal pace

the reason for posting the above events, is to say first, its clowns like this, that spoil it for normal riders,
now back in the 80,s I did have a serious accident, at high speed, ( approx 80 mph ) went through a central reservation, taking part of a m-way sign with me, hit the barrier, and cart wheeled over the carragway, ( stayed on the bike through out ) land the right way up, only to go through a second crash barrier and wooden fence as well, at which point, I was thrown clear, and landed in a ditch full of cr*p, which is what saved me,
injurys were surprisingly light, mostly serious cuts, and my shoulder getting knocked out of joint, ( I was also knocked out, woke up in an ambulance with escort ) the cause was in part my fault, ie speed, but the primary cause, was a car pulled out of a side road, I swerved, and that was that
back to the idiots I was with, I got to bala eventually, to be meet by p*ss taking, my comment was, have any of you had a bad accident, pointing out that if they were to have one now, you would be talking "cripple" or dead
3 weeks later, all four of them got nicked by a helicoptor, the other laugh was, all of them used the same bike run, every sunday at the same sort of time, so yes, a lot of born again "wa*kers out there,
