Problem mounting hdd on solo

Hi all,I got a 1tb hard drive and am trying to mount onto a vu+ solo.I followed the tutorial and when doing a filesystem check I get this message;
Unable to complete filesystem check.Error:Please Reboot
And when doing the initialization I get this message;
Unable to initialize harddisk.Error:Creating partition failed
At the minute the harddrive is formatted to ntfs,do I need to format it to ext3 or fat32? Or do I have other issues?

it should format

try this plug it into a windows pc and go to manage and delete the partition and leave it like that

plug it into the solo again and then perform a initialise

if not then flash with original vu image and initialise that usually always works
