There's only one way for this: ytou must ask Sony, not VU+. How would VU+ be able to provide a code for a Sony-device??

Or look in my signature for a much better solution.

you have a point there but it is VU that need to sort it out and make the remote compatible either by an update or correcting the code

like logitech harmony and one4all they require firmware updates to the remote itself when new devices become compatible that are not within the hardware functionality before hand

Nope, VU+ has nothing to do with that.
It's the R/C's manufacturer that uses internal code-numbers to assign specific IR-languages and -codes; it's up to them which they do and which they don't support. The languages/codes of (most) devices are freely available.
Just as it is up to VU+ which devices they support with their universal R/C.

Logitech has a (relative) easy job on this: customers themselves "teach" the remotes the codes of devices that are still unknown or unconfirmed by Logitech; all they do is analyze them and add them to their database.

That's what I ment rob Vu need to add the device into its remotes

Hehe, sorry, I thought it was the Sony TV's R/C that was being used. Sorry about that :o
If it is about the UNO's R/C you are absolutely right: VU+ should cover that.

I have tried to program both my DS and HD PVR remotes to work with my Sony Bravia (KLV 40V550A) TV but with no success.

I used the following sequence:
Press SHIFT
3 blinks
enter code = 00000
accept

Where am I going wrong? Please start a new thread. This one is eleven years old and well out of date.
