It's not being announced till next week, but a source has leaked some specs for the Motorola Droid Razr phone that's been teased in a video. And they look mighty impressive.
Word is it's faster than the iPhone 4S, with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor (Apple hasn't released the speed of the iPhone 4S's, but it's believed to be around 1GHz). There's also 1GB of RAM, which is about double the iPhone's 512MB. Sounds like we're heating up for a good old-fashioned phone fight.
The specs aren't official, but BGR seems pretty sure its source is telling the truth. The source even said it's "faster than the iPhone 4S" so if those specs aren't enough, this sounds like confirmation. The Droid Razr will also sport a 4.3-inch screen, according to the source, and be the thinnest 4G LTE handset so far, though this doesn't really matter for us Brits, as we won't be getting LTE for a few years yet despite trials taking place.
Of course how good a phone is comes down to a lot more than just specs (Apple proved this with the original iPhone, which didn't even have 3G yet is still better than a lot of today's handsets). But if these are right, it should prove an interesting three-way battle with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, set to be unveiled on Wednesday. (The Droid Razr event is scheduled for Tuesday.)
Earlier in the week Motorola teased a video, and while it wasn't clear what it was for, it did feature a razor blade, which hints it'll be the Droid Razr. The handset is also said to have a Kevlar case, and an 8-megapixel camera that records in 1080p. Samsung and Google have also punted out an invite to its Ice Cream Sandwich event next week in Hong Kong, where the Galaxy Nexus is expected to make an appearance. It's said to have a 4.6-inch screen and be the first to run this version of Android, so this should prove to be a great scrap.
