I have been using Dreamdroid alongwith DaroonPlayer on Android 2.3 and my ET9000 ...gives not only control but also streaming to my HTC Desire over LAN.
Check it out on the Android marketplace.

There's also Android dreamer which gives streaming but lacks some of the other features

mmmmmmmm doesn't add any confidence knowing theres no support in English at all. I'll stick with dreamdroid thanks

dreamdroid which can be downloaded form AM is in English, very useful on WIFI.
