Hello anyone tested both image and booloader. does the image look the same.any pictures
the remote plugin , can i change the buttons.
can i make a backup of bootloader or where does i get older bootloader.

tbh the default image is very simple i would suggest going with vix as its far more sophisticated and customizable

The only way your really going to know is to try for your self, but yes as silverfox said the OE image is particularly basic and no where near as customizable as for example the VIX image.

About the bootloader: why would you want to have an old version :confused:
Just update the bootloader: simple, safe, easy and must be done sometime (to accept images of over 64MB; the OI is already just over that limit).

About OI: give it a try, and you will see the reason for the above answers. And you will never do it again :D

If we update the bootloader do we need to reinstall the image afterwards Thanks

You can update the bootloader whilst still using your current image, so no need to reinstall after.

To check that the update is ok telnet this command.

cat /proc/mtd

new bootloader response:

root@bm750:~# cat /proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name

To be honest the boot-loader adds no functionality to the receiver other than allowing it to flash larger images.

That is correct and very important; people already suffer from not being able to flash their backups for the sole reason they were a bit too large for months and months!
