Hi
I think of replacing my non linux 5402 HD with Linux TM 800 HD. I want to do it because I use it mostly for FTA radio stations and I need the display to show the channel's name when tv is off and TM 800 has that alphanumeric display, right?
Though I heard tm 800 crashes and switches between channels in 3 seconds sometimes. Any comment on this? Any other disadvantages vs the non-linux 5402?
Regards
Andy

if you dont want advanced functions, then the tm800 would be fine for you m8

may be worth waiting a few weeks before buying one though ;)

The price of the TM800 isn't going to be reduced ;)

Thank you all for answers. Need some more help, 3 issues.
So I have tm800 now, I usb flashed it with the newest IQ image.
1. It asked me for current password I chose cancel, what is it about?
2. Also don't know how to load a list of channels from file or as you call it E2 settings, preferably from usb.
3. Not sure whether should choose 1080i or 1080p.
Thank you in advance
Andy

1. try 0000 (zeros)
2. As far as I know cant be done via USB have to use a editor such as dreamboxedit - instructions here http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?10938-How-to-upload-VIX-Silverfox0786-bougets-to-E2 The channel lists are in the E2 list
3. Doesn't really matter as very little is actual 1080P on 28.2E

So many issues. My tm800 will go back to the seller.
After switching to a new channel it takes the sound a few seconds to stabilize.
Also at first I see the previous channel and the new at the same some for a second.
There's no easy access from alphabetical list "by letter" as I have in 5402
Service Unavailable appears sometimes instead of a legit fta channel
Still slower than 5402
Best Regards
Andy

wow Big Drop to TM now of TM 800.... not big drop on price ,but for me big drop of credibility of this box for the future all TM brands.
Is this the End of This box...?

I will like to see the Dealers who sold this box and End users who bought that box haw they fill now?

technology moves on and prices drop, but yes, this is a big drop indeed. i have been told that the TM800 WILL NOT be discontinued though and support is ongoing for this receiver.

if the OE software does get sorted out, then as the sponsors ad says, why bother with an inferior clone, when you can get an original product for less money

IF the OE software gets sorted.....

its good to see companies keeping on supporting their products though, dont you think?

Wich one you call Inferior Clone !?..Dreabox 800 ...they are Broadcom cpu ...and Tm 800 is Nxp cpu very low one cpu ...But you are right the Clone should compete with Clones ...lol

and about "if the OE software does get sorted out" i can say -" if my Anti has the bolls, will be called Uncle" lol

guys can we please get back on topic here. This forum is intended as a friendly place for people to come and discuss things without resulting in bickering about which receiver is better or not.
