As far as I am aware openpli 2.1 is still beta software. Does this mean VIX2.3 will be based on a beta build and if so how is the build date chosen?

VIX is looooooooosly based on pli

VIX is never in beta when released it is made fully stable before release infact its so much diffrent to pli core that it cant really be clased as pli based

this is also the reason why releases are after so long

we dont like releasing unless we are sure its stable working and in good nick

Thanks for the information and keep up the good work. ViX is by far the best image I have tried so far. If your ever in need of a Java Developer (over ten years experience with both GUI and Server) give me a shout.

I have been a professional programmer since 1997 C++, Java, SQL Server, Oracle, VB/VB.NET, Delphi and have even done a bit of coding/compiling for the DBOXII (about 18 months ago ). But my main areas are big corporate backend DB/payment stuff, mainly MS based. I'd love to help but fear I would be more of a hindrance in the initial phase due to having to come up to spec on the inner workings of linux and the sat boxes. e.g libs/function calls/drivers etc

sadly we cant get into release dates but only say that we are working very hard to get the image ready for general release.

we would always recommend a full re flash when moving between major versions of the image and you can use the backup manager within blue button > vix to backup all your settings for easy transfer to the new image once flashed.

hello,

which settings are saved (then can be restored ) ?
say yes or not :
- cccam exec (or any other cam under softcam directory)
- cccam configuration files
- channels list
- picons
- password
- webinterface configuration (eg : no to https, yes to http, ask for password, etc).
- cifs mounts

Thank you.

All of them, + the option to re-install the previously installed plugins.

As what rob says, but you also have the option to backup any other files you would like to keep backed up and restored to the new flash...

Would it be possible to also release the 2.3 beta of ViX image?

we are not like other teams we dont release beta's

and that is why we have a large beta team to do teesting before release
