How to load Picons to Dreambox 800se

i just drag and drop them on to my pendrive and use them from there in a folder called picon

yes you can but the hdd will spin up every time you change channel to pull the picon for the new channel ;)

just log into box and send picons over to hdd into folder picon

just put them on media/hdd/picon but i guarantee you when in a quiet room the continuous noise of a HDD spinning up will eventually drive you nuts.

Do yourself a favour and buy a usb stick to store them ;)

There is a deal on a 8GB in the bargain forum, get one an stick picons and EPG on it far better than using HDD,noise apart think of the heat

yes very good point. a continuous spinning HDD will cause massive heat build up in the receiver and that can drastically shorten it's life if not vented properly.
