The Polish DTH platform Cyfra+ plans to significantly improve its offer over the next three months. Besides adding a number of HD channels, it will launch a new 3D channel, introduce free web TV services and enhance its on demand offer.
The changes will start on October 28 with the appearance of Canal+ Gol HD and Canal+ Weekend HD. Then on November 11 all Canal + Cyfrowy proprietary channels will change their names and become HD services.
They will then be known as ale kino+ HD, Planete+ HD, Kuchnia+ HD, Domo+ HD, teleTOON+HD, Hyper+HD and MiniMini HD.
Cyfra+ also plans to develop its Canal+ 3D service, showing at least two movies in the format each month and also sporting events.
Furthermore, it also plans to launch a 3D channel.
From November 11, its proprietary thematic channels will be streamed live over the internet and those channels, along with HBO, made available on an on demand basis.
Other, third party channels will follow later and by year’s end Cyfra+ VOD will be made available over the internet.
Cyfra+ PVRs will meanwhile be programmed from November to receive a number of internet services and the functions of Sagem HD PVRs improved still further.
Cyfra+ is the second largest DTH platform in Poland after Cyfrowy Polsat and has around 1.5 million subscribers.
