Recording tv programs with the Vu+ Duo

Helllo All,
I've just bought an external USB 1Tb hard drive but don't know how to make tv recordings the Vu+ Duo!
When the drive is connected via USB, the VU+ Duo returns this error:-

Missing /HDD/Movie
NO HDD found or HDD not installed

Cannyone help with directions, please.

you need to initialise the hdd

Would that mean initialize the hdd in fat32 format (or whatever format) via pc or does the vu+ duo do it itself? If it does how do i come to the menu for this?

Thanks Stanman, just wondering if the initializing format is linux based that is, would a VU+ Duo formatted external USB drive play on another reciever that uses only fat32 system?

The HDD will be ext3/4 formatted so as long as the OS can acess it should play but I dont think Windows can
