Two etc directories

Hi

Should there be two 'etc' directories?

One is in dir/var and the other is in the main /etc

Both contain the same files and I think this is causing a conflict. Should I remove the /etc and keep the var/etc?? All advise welcome :confused:

etc is just a symbolic link to var/etc
They are the same files and it is impossible to cause a conflict from a symbolic link

Actually, they are the other way around. /var/etc/ is a symlink to /etc/...

But, as Donnie said, they are the exact same files, so no need to worry...
