I have just unpacked my new ..toy

before I put in the new VIX image do I need to backup the original ? I cant seen to connect using vucc

no you dont need to back any thing up if you just got the receiver out of the box with the factory image.

Thanks for getting back so quick. what if i want to install HDD later

just add the hard drive, when you need it.

and format/mount via the VIX menu, its really quite easy,...but avoid western digital hard drives
