I have been trying with this box for about 3 weeks and I still have not watched a program on it.
I have catseye and epg but the sat dish is not set up properly. I put it on Astra 28e with my starview box and it works for a while and then I lose position.

looks like you have either corrupted your usb stick and if you didnt have that installed then backup has tried to be made in internal flash and you have filled it up

just reflash the image frm scratch

there is no way to recover your mistake now but to reflash the nand with vix

I have factory reset about 150 times .
I have reinstalled the Vix image at least 10 times, including today.
I tried the blackhole image, but there is no way it will let me install Cccam.
It must be something I have done to the box itself.
I am ready to sling it, but I do not like quitting, is there anything else I can try?

Start step by step.

First post what sort of setup you have, fixed or motorised.

Sicillian,
I have a motorised dish.

Read through this thread http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?213-Basic-newbie-setup-procedure-for-VU-Duo-for-Dummies Basicly the same setup.

Re-flash the receiver and start fresh.

Sicillian,
I have read that section, I have wiped my usb stick clean. Put the image on again.
The image goes in ok, but the same problem is still there.
Before I go to menu I just know it will say reformat again.
The only thing I can think of is maybe a new usb stick.
Absolutely at wits end,
Colin

The backup with only make a backup if have a storage location mounted.

I think you need to take things one step at a time. First get watching TV, then look at creating backups. Whats the point of creating a backup of something you've not even managed to fully setup yet?

Start step by step. First re-flash and set it up to use your motor dish and get viewing FTA channels. Once you've got to that stage move on to other things.
