As my ET9000 gets really warm, especially now on hot summerdays, I decided to fix a cooling fan.
It's not the HDD that causes the heat, as I have a 2,5" HDD
But the psu and tunerblocks are really warm.
So instead of mount a fan under the HDD, I made something very simple.
I bought a notebook cooler from Deltaco and placed it under my ET9000.
This simple arrangement now keeps the box cold.
The power for fans (5 V) comes from an USB port on the box.
The cooler looks like this

The two rear fans will be placed right under psu and tuners, and make an effective cooling.
The price in Sweden for this cooler is 179 Skr (19 euro)
There is also a 4 port hub built into the cooler.
I also have a cooler under one of my other boxes, Ipbox 9000HD. And it's cooling the box effective.

Cameltoe doesn't have a receiver yet ;) Also its needs to be stated that the fan needs to be a certain voltage and have 2 pin plug.

oh yes sorry

please look at forum sponsor for your purchase of BOX

i do beleive the sponsor also sells accessories for many different boxes and its only a question a way to ask what he has in respect to what box you go for

I have a CT9000 in my living room, so may well fit a fan to that anyway ;)

I wanted a CT5000 for bedroom but I like the universal remote with the CT9000 and it meant I'd have a single remote - so it would be a CT5000 and suffer 3 remotes or just get another CT9000 - so just weighing options up. (3 remotes as I have a WDTVlive media box as well - and TV of course)

Tell you what though - love the CT9000 and this forum is great, the support level is fantastic compared to "other" image support areas.

I personally have never bothered about putting a fan in the ET9000.

I have Logitech Harmony for downstairs :D but it was a bit overkill for upstairs - I was hoping the remotes were interchangable e.g. i could swap over the CT5000 remote for the CT9000 and all would have been good in the world... but alas not :(

A new harmony + CT5000 would work out about the same as a CT9000 - so you see my problem

thanks for the help again:D
