    Vix Crashing

Since updating my box to Vix 4.2.030 it keeps crashing. Sometimes it last minutes, other times hours. I have no extra plug ins installed, just the core build. It will suddenly freeze and I am unable to change channels or select menus. I have to turn the box off and start again.

    Model Vu+ Duo2
    Chipset BCM7424
    CPU BCM7425B2
    Drivers 2016-12-28
    Kernel 3.13.5
    GStreamer 1.9.0 (GIT)
    Python 2.7.11

Can anyone assist with this issue ?

    Thanks

Can you enable debug logs and restart. Upload the debug logs after the next time it crashes.

I've done that, the box crashed again and there aren't any logs recorded ?

I'm looking in the following area

    Menu>Setup>System>Logs>Logs Manager

Is this the correct area ?

    Thanks

What version were you on prior to updating to 4.2.030?

BTW you need to ftp to your receiver, using something like filezilla on your laptop or desktop and your logs will be located in home/logs

That's not a crash, it's a hang. So there will be no crash log.

There's nothing helpful in the end of the log you've posted. Could you attach the whole debug log (zipped?) to a post?

This one does report that it is hanging (the last line).

Not sure why. CrossEPG is reported as starting and TUNING (~44400s) but never reports a finish. Not sure if it ever does (I don't use it).

Do the hangs you see have any pattern as to when they occur?

Apologies, the log attached today was the last one to happen and smaller in size than yesterday's.

No pattern at all that I can spot, different amount of usage or time between crashes/hangs, not related to any action that I am trying to do or channels being watched.

I have had a duo2 a few years now. I use oscam, always have done. The machine never hangs. It crashes occasionally and I get the odd constant spinning vix, but it has hung maybe once or twice since I bought it. Are you sure it's not a hardware problem?
