Because they've implemented the encryption on older boxes it may be possible to find out how the encryption works although it still might not be possible to reverse it.

lose a few channels on one provider and talk like the sky is falling in.

Cancelled my sub more than a year ago and never miss it. Everyone I talk to says the same. Over priced and padded with reruns from 30 years ago. And even just for FTA no other STBs come close.

Well it is for those who only rely on the illegal side of things for their tv viewing and like it or not those selling receivers will be massively hit when people stop buying expensive E2 boxes that only really work for FTA.

Don't get me wrong I have been a massive satellite enthusiast for almost 30 years since my dad got sky installed in 1989 but most modern users are not satellite enthusiasts, they are leaches who want free tv and they are a huge part of the receiver buying market. A market that in the uk at least is going to really suffer.

Personally I am more than happy to keep the money sky used to get from me in my arse pocket and use my setup for FTA. My E2 boxes still blow sky's horrible UI out of the water every single time.

depends on what you use your box for but believe me you won't miss sky once you bite the bullet and tell them to bugger off.

Lol I was only 10 years old then but I still had my own dish up and was regularly on the roof laying cables etc. I was instantly hooked and only three years later I had a three meter channel master dish in the garden, neibours thought we were nuts or Russian spy's I'm sure. In fact I only just two months ago threw my cam and card collection in the bin (had over 150 cam units and 300 plus cards of all descriptions).

I remember Tuti Frutti , and they did one show in 3d. I got hold of a pair of cheap 3d glasses to watch it. The good old days.
