    Help with meter

Hi lads I recently bought a First Strike meter. Now in this meter you either have preprogrammed sats or enter in your own. Some of the sats are outdated so Im entering in my own and there is a thing down the end that says 22khz, but I dont know if this should be turned on or left off. Im trying to enter these transponders

    15.8 east....11.055 V 27900 2/3

    0.8 west.....11.325 H 24500 7/8

22khz is to make a diseqct switch change to a diffent sat. so you wont need it m8. not on normal installs

the 22khx switch is to switch the lnb between lo and high band channels. the lnb is able to send 4 frequency 'bands' down the cable

vertical polorised low band (13v to lnb)
horizontal polarised low band (18v to lnb)
vertical polarised high band (13v & 22khz to lnb)
horizontal polarised high band (18v & 22khz to lnb)

this switchers the lnbs local oscillator between 2 frequencies, 9.75Ghz and 10.600Ghz, this converts the received signal into one that can travel down the cable to feed the receiver

    the following is from wiki

The local oscillator frequency determines what block of incoming frequencies is downconverted to the frequencies expected by the receiver. For example, to downconvert the incoming signals from Astra 1KR, which transmits in a frequency block of 10.70-11.70 GHz, to within a standard European receiver’s IF tuning range of 950-2150 MHz, a 9.75 GHz local oscillator frequency is used, producing a block of signals in the band 950-1950 MHz.

For the block of higher transmission frequencies used by Astra 2A and 2B (11.70-12.75 GHz), a different local oscillator frequency converts the block of incoming frequencies. Typically, a local oscillator frequency of 10.60 GHz is used to downconvert the block to 1100-2150 MHz, which is, again, within the receiver’s 950-2150 MHz IF tuning range

i dont know too much about your meter but id say set it to off or auto as the frequencies you listed are in the 10.700-11.700 band so wouldnt require the 22khz tone to change the local os to 10.600. regards mdt
