ok guys, ive just replaced my log-on password for the first time..... so...... why ?? ... as this is a pet hate of mine..... and is this nessesary, as i for one hate this system ??

I've enabled this for all members from the start. All members need to change their password every 90 days.

its a small security feature there to protect you as well as the forum, and to be honest it takes a few seconds to change the password. so no big deal in my opinion.
