Sky Player to be rebranded Sky Go on Xbox Live

Sky Player on Xbox Live will be rebranded as Sky Go from Wednesday, July 6.

Sky Go will offer the same level of content and functionality as the existing Sky Player, with "very little change" in content, according to Eurogamer.

Users will be greeted with new terms and conditions upon loading the application, and some outage is expected tomorrow morning as the changeover occurs.

Sky Go is part of a rebranding of Sky Player and Sky Mobile TV, allowing users to register up to two devices, including iPhones, PCs and Xbox 360 consoles.

Sky Player launched on Xbox Live in October 2009, and requires both a Sky subscription and Xbox Live Gold account to access.

Sky Player was also given full Kinect integration last year, allowing the app to be navigated with hand gestures and voice commands.
