    Windows 7 and iTunes

    Hi all,

Ive rebuilt a win7 laptop for a guy and all is fine.
I installed itunes but wonder what happen when he connects the ipod to his laptop.
If there is no music on his laptop will it upload it from his ipod or will it wipe the music from his ipod.

The same goes for photos and apps.

it will ask to wipe the music from his ipod inorder to sync with itunes on the new laptop. thats the problem i had. there is an easy fix but you need a jailbroken device to do it. and its an app via cydia which works as a usb drive when you connect the ipod/iphone to the computer and lets you transfer music/pics/videos and other stuff to ur ipod/iphone without syncing with itunes. pretty nifty but costs too. other than that im not too sure of an alternative solution

there is a easier way. you can use winamp and the free ipod plugin. with this you can copy all of the music from the device to your pc before you sync with itunes. i did this last year with my then iphone 3gs, although i cant remember the exact steps.

    get winamp here
    Code:
    http://filehippo.com/download_winamp/
    and the plugin here
    Code:
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/mlipod/files/mlipod/3.10/iPod_Support_v3_10.exe/download
