NME TV, Bliss launch on Freesat

Subscription-free satellite platform Freesat has today welcomed NME TV and Bliss to its lineup of music channels.

NME TV broadcasts interviews, video-led programming and festival coverage from the alternative music scene, while Bliss showcases the biggest artists in contemporary pop.

The channels join a range of existing services on Freesat operated by CSC Media, including Chart Show TV, Flava and The Vault, as well as Pop, Tiny Pop, Kix and PopGirl. CSC also operates the True Movies bouquet of channels.

"The launch of NME TV and Bliss are fantastic additions to the Freesat music genre, reflecting even more diversity and choice for Freesat customers," said Mark Briggs, Freesat's head of channels.

"In other genres, Freesat customers also enjoy more great subscription-free channels from CSC Media like True Movies, True Entertainment, and a range of children's channels for all ages."

CSC Media managing director Remy Minute added: "These channel additions add to our portfolio offering on Freesat, underlining our commitment to subscription-free television. Freesat continues to grow its customer base.

"With over one-and-a-half million customers to date, Freesat is playing an increasingly important role in helping us reach the growing number of viewers who enjoy watching our television channels."

Last week, the BBC Red Button video service launched on Freesat, bringing a range of video content to the platform, starting with the Being Human spinoff, Becoming Human.
