    2160p 50hz SES & ASTRA demos switch to 1080p 50hz

When using the 'HD Only' or 'All Resolution' option, the VU Ultimo 4K switches all modes perfectly apart from when watching a 2160p 50hz signal when watching the ASTRA and SES 4K demo channels on 28.2E. It switches the output to 1080p 50hz. I'd really appreciate it if it would switch to 2160p 50hz.

In the list of options, there isn't a setting for 2160p 50fps to pick which is the output of these test channels.

Could this be added to the Vix images so the box switches to the correct 2160p 50hz when choosing the HD Only or 'All Resolutions' option?

The picture is perfect when I disable 'all resolutions' or 'HD Only' and pick 2160p, but I have to manually change the resolution when switching back to a 'normal' standard or HD channel. It would be much better if I could set it to automatically choose the correct output.

    Hi,
enable debug log do a bit of zapping and post the debug log. After enabling debug log you must restart the box.

And this log I used 'Only HD' and and switched SD, HD and UHD. Then towards the end I set a fixed 2160p for all channels and did similar.

    Hi,
I took a look at VideoMode.py (responsible for AR) and it seems that UHD is not yet supported.

Please excuse my lake of knowledge, but is VideoMode.py a part of vix software and something that can be updated by the vix team?

With the number of 4K boxes available that Vix support, surely this is something that needs updating.

    Thanks

    Hi,
yes it can be fixed (I hope so). We are working on it.

btw. the number of 4K boxes is higher than the number of useful 4K-services:-)

    Hi,
what resolution do you have as default for instance when no AR is active? Did you try 2160p50?

I checked on my Ultimo 4K and it looked very good (perfect?) when you have a default resolution (without AR active) set to 2160. If default is for instance 1080 then the box will not switch to 2160.

So conclusion for me AR is working but not perfect. I think in one of the next versions it will also work with 1080 as default resolution.

Edit: If you like I can give you a version to test if it is switching even if default videomode is 1080

    ciao
