    Terrestrial Tuner

I have scanned Pontop Pike which has resulted in several channels displaying "Tuner Fail", in particular BBC News HD and Al Jazeera HD. All the other major channels are showing good signal strength and work normally. I usually watch Al Jazeera in SD on sat but decided to try terrestrial HD this morning.

I have deleted ABM's several times and manual scanned but no joy.

    Any suggestions much appreciated.

    Terrestrial Tuner

Enable "ignore dvb namespace" for terrestrial only and then scan terrestrial only. Do not use ABM just yet.

I am presuming you have set tuner as pontoop pike

Yes, tuner is set to Pontop Pike. Have deleted ABM for terrestrial. "Ignore dvb namespace" was already enabled but have tried both ways and no change.

An automatic scan finds 148 channels (no Al Jazeera) but if I force a complete scan it finds 165, including Al Jazeera. Still "Tune Failed" for that and BBC HD. The name of the terrestrial provider is shown as "unknown".

    Baffling!!!

Freeview does not transmit the provider name.

Sorry, ignore dvb namepspace has to be "no" for terrestrial. Can we try again?

    1. Clear the Terrestrial services:
Channel up, green for satellites, Highlight "Terrestrial Services", Menu, Remove Terrestrial services, Confirm, Restart

    2. Manually scan Terrestrail with the ignore dvb namespace to No

    3. Restart.

    4. Save lamedb/5 files and attach here. They will have to be zipped before you can attach. they will be in /etc/enigma2/

    5. Check the problematic Terrestrial channels in the service list, not bouquet for now. (Channel up, green for satellites, highlight "Terrestrial Services")

Channel up, green for satellites, Highlight "Terrestrial Services"

Do you have more than one instance of the channels?
Do the previously troublesome ones work now?
Which frequency are the working ones?

OK, all done and automatic scan now very rapid and includes previously missing channels. There do not appear to be any duplicates but still "Tune Fail" on previously mentioned channels.

These work:- 698, 770, 738, 746, 706, 778. The culprit seems to be 570 which carries BBC News HD and Al Jazeera HD.

You should also have C56 (754) as your local MUX (with "Made in Tyne and Wear") and C34 (578).
    Code:
    https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Pontop_Pike
C33 (for BBC News HD) and C34 are at lower power - you might be getting a weak signal for them.
    MiracleBox Prem Twin HD - 2@DVB-T2 + Xtrend et8000 - 5(incl. 2 different USBs)@DVB-T2[terrestrial - UK Freeview HD, Sandy Heath] - LAN/USB-stick/HDD

The frequencies are in the terrestrail.xml file (used for non-abm scanning)
The HD frequencies are listed in the ABM provider file.

I'm sure it is a localised signal issue. Check you cabling, splitters and connections.
