One last question. The way I read Abu's post, I need physical Tuner A, top port A, for the Unicable. The first cable ( from motored dish ) to physical Tuner A, bottom port B.

With the second physical Tuner B it is possible to connect the second cable from the motor dish and setup as 'second cable'.

If I have got that all correctly, I am very grateful, thank you.

I thought you had one card. Total of two ports. This is what my advice was based on. Your latest post suggests otherwise.

Please post a screenshot as per Huevos' request.

I initially gathered you had four connections, I asked for confirmation if you had four connections.

Tuners: How many inputs/connections (in total) do you have? (Just want to confirm its four and if they are FBC)
    you said
Ultimo4k has two physical FBC tuners.
Does that mean one card with two connections?
Does that mean two cards with four connections?

I am now confused. Please post the screenshot to avoid the confusion.

In my very first post I said I had two twin FBC's in my Ultimo4k. That is why I was confused as to the cable layout.

I sent the first LNB back to the retailer and I await the new one.

The moment all is installed and setup I will post screenshot.

The following referring to the card slots on motherboard
    Tuner slot A (FBC)
    Tuner slot B (FBC)
    Tuner slot C (old fashioned)

The cards in the slot will then make up the tuners on receiver. Two FBC tuner cards will create the following

    Tuner A
    Tuner B
    Tuner C
    Tuner D
    Tuner E
    Tuner F
    Tuner G
    Tuner H
    Tuner I
    Tuner J
    Tuner K
    Tuner L
    Tuner M
    Tuner N
    Tuner O
    Tuner P

If you add an old fashioned twin tuner, that will add two more tuners. And if you add USB tuners devices, even more.

Don't mix up "tuner slot" with "tuner card" and "tuner". They are different things

Yep, 2 physical FBC tuners means 4 sockets, which is why I asked. Thread not clear at all.

Hopefully now you can see what I have been trying to say since post 1. that I have two twin FBC tuners.

In other words, according to your description, 2 cards, 4 ports.

Now all I need is confirmation of which cable goes where. One will come via Unicable LNB and one or two from Universal LNB on motor dish. I say two from motor LNB as Abu hinted there could be a way to utilise the second cable.

You've got a twin DVB-T2 (terrestrial) tuner in that picture.

Yes I know, I have a terrestrial antenna connected to it but it is not part of this discussion.

    UPDATE
Supplier has e-mailed to say original order is not available so they intend to supply either the QUDL42 UNI2L 1pp Unicable or an updated model the 5434 Idlu – QUDL42 – UNR2L – 1PP

Thay are leaving the choice to me.

Don't buy that. It is just a 4 SCR LNB. You need a Unicable II/JESS LNB preferably with 32 SCRs.

Huevos, your advice is noted and appreciated.

    Programmable Unicable II 32UB LNB
    Model: IDLU-32UL40-UNBOO-OPP
    Item: 5278

This product is not easy to get in the UK so I will have to source from Europe.

In advance of its delivery I would still like to plan ahead with cable runs etc. This would also include which cable is connected to which 'card' and which port (top or bottom).
Hope I have made that understandable?

    Notes:
The "Tuner card" in first "tuner slot" takes the first set of letters based on "tuners". (tuners used vaguely here).
The top port in a "tuner card" is the lowest "tuner" letter.

    Unicable LNB

Connect Unicable LNB to top connection of the "tuner card" in the first "tuner slot". This is tuner letter A for your setup.
The tuners are internally linked. No need for anything to be connected to the same tuner card.

    Tuner config A:
Advanced, Lof= unicable LNB, select, make, model.
SCR=1 (Dont mix up with position)

    Tuner config B:
    Same as above.
    SCR=2.
    Linked: yes.
    linked to A

    Tuner config C.
    As above
    SCR=3
    Linked: yes
    Linked to B

    Tuner config D.
    As above
    SCR=4
    Linked: yes
    Linked to C

    Tuner config E
    As above
    SCR 5
    Linked: yes
    Linked to D

    Tuner config F
    As above
    SCR 6
    Linked: yes
    Linked to E

    Tuner config G
    As above
    SCR 7
    Linked: yes
    Linked to F

    Tuner config H
    As above
    SCR 8
    Linked: yes
    Linked to G

    Motorised LNBs

Connect the motor control wire to the top connection of the "tuner card" in the second "tuner slot". This is "tuner" I on your setup.
Connect the "direct to LNB on motorised dish" wire to the bottom connection of the "tuner card" in the second "tuner slot". This is "tuner" J on your setup.
The tuners are internally linked. No need for anything to be connected to the same tuner card.

    Tuner config I
Set as simple, USALS selecting positions. scroll down, press OK and enable sats you want. Best not to enable 28.2.

    Tuner config J
Set as the "second cable of motorised LNB". Just like you did with a conventional tuner.

    Tuner config K-P
Leave at default of "automatic FBC"

Unicable LNB usage with other receivers
If you buy a 32 SCR LNB, you will have 24 channels not used. If you intend to connect to other receivers, place splitter at convenient position for your wiring setup.
The SCR numbers must not be duplicated among all the receivers.

    Abu

Many thanks for you help and patience.
There is a lot to take in here and I will eventually get my head around it all.

Your last comment leaves me in doubt as to which Inverto to buy. I will only use my single Ultimo4k so is there a better choice of Unicable LNB? I ask because they are quite expensive.

    Again thanks.

Help with Unicable and Motorised System.

The Unicable LNBs generally come in 4, 24 or 32 SCR varieties. The price variance does not justify restricting the setup with a 4 SCR lnb.
