    Softcam downloader.

    Hello all.

Please could someone tell me if there is a softcam manager / downloader that I can use on a Edision OS mini+ running the latest openVIX image.

I'm familiar with Filezilla so could install an IPK file from the tmp folder if necessary.

Thank you and regards, The Soulman.

All the softcams are in the feeds and available to download. Menu->Plugins->Green Button

The softcam manager is already in the image.

Already tried that, just displays a message about the kernel being changed and to install using USB or image manager.

I have only just set the receiver up having taken delivery of it a few days ago, it was purchased from world of satellite and was flashed with the latest image by them prior to delivery.

    Regards, The Soulman.

Its probably not the latest now - there are updates every few days. BTW "latest" means very little - go to the information menu and you will find out exactly what build you are on.

If I try to downoad plugins by this method I get the following message displayed on screen."The Linux kernel has changed, plugins are not compatible.Install latest image using USB stick or image manager".

I get almost the same message if I attempt to do a software update.
As mentioned in the above post, I've only just today set the receiver up, it has been taken delivery of from world of satellite just a few days ago and was flashed by them with the latest openVIX image.

.... so what is the "latest image"?

As far as I can tell, there has been a recent kernel change, which means the plugin feeds won't work on "older" images .

I do realise that the image is updated quite often and that the latest image isn't the larest image for very long.

The point I'm trying to make is that as the image was flashed into the box only a few days ago by world of satellite it should be petty recent and be able to download plugins.

So back to the question, does anyone have any idea what the problem might be ???????

    Regards, the Soulman.

    Check Menu. information. about.
5.0.023 is the image you will need to for the plugins working. This has recently been relased.

You will need to update your image to 5.0.023. You can do it through image manager in the vix menu.
