    Motorised setup

My alsat dark motor has packed in so i am replacing it on the weekend, i am in Wales so setting it up on 5w, a little confused do i set 5w up when the motor is set at 0? Or do i find due south then send the motor to 5w then set it up? I have read different ways, last time i set it up it was on 0.8w but thst was 5 years ago and cannot remember if i left the motor on 0.
    thanks

Best to have a channel list on receiver first.

0/reset the motor. Then select a service on your due south satellite, 5w for you.

    Tweak assembly to maximize signal.

Set it up on 5w as Abu advises but as the signals are so strong you could then switch to 0.8w afterwards and fine tune as it is weaker. A mm or two can make a big difference on the weaker birds.

Move with the receiver ie select a channel on 5w. Then physically align the dish/motor for best signal. Also check at both ends of the arc. Just make sure the co-ordinates you enter in the tuner config are accurate.

Set up the tuner config first. DiSEqC 1.2. USALS. Make sure co-ordinates are correct for your location.

Send the dish to "0" (i.e. go to zero).

    Send the dish to 5W.

No need for a channel list. Just use Sat finder.
