I have never had any issues with Duracell rechargeable batteries, I even swapped out my original cannon batteries out of my DSLR's (canon EOS 5D mk2, canon EOS 7D mk2 and a professionally infrared modified canon EOS 40D ) for duracells and they work better than ever.

I switched my 650 for a harmony elite on black Friday, and discovered the elite has a higher WAF (wife acceptance factor) than the 650.
She finds it much easier to use and has much less issue - but I think that's partly because the IR is sent from the hub, not from the remote, so you don't have to keep the remote pointed at the devices whilst it does its thing

its all done via PC with their own provided software and a USB cable. You just select the remote(s) you want to emulate via a big arse list and go from there.

If your remote was not on their list you can use the learn function to clone keys from one to the other or send the original remote to Logitech for them to add to their database themselves.

I have the 650 and when it works correctly it's very good. I only have one activity controlling 3 units (stb/tv/soundbar) and all too often it does not switch on or switch off one of the units. The HELP button is well used !

that's often because you have to keep the 650 pointed at the devices, and of course, their IR sensors are scattered around your TV cabinet/stand.
With the newer hub based ones the IR sender is in the hub on the cabinet/stand and the remote sends RF signals to the base hub, which then sends the IR signal, so it never happens unless the bloody kids move the IR transmitter or hub
