Copy image from one to another

Not sure if I'm in the correct section But.
I'm thinking og getting a VU zero, am friend of mine has one and he likes it very much, so here's the question. I would like to copy all the files, images and what ever else is on his box then install it onto mine, is this possble. I have a good idea of how to flash the box but that's about it so if I could copy all the stuff off my mates box that would be much easier for. Can anyone help?:

Yes. Create a backup of your friends box on a usb stick, then restore it on yours.

Its not complicated as it will be a freesat receiver I'm guessing so no complicated setup as in terms of softcam etc?
