Cable Signal Strength For Dual Tuner

    HI Guys,

Apologies if this is in the wrong section but I didn't see any dedicated cable thread, basically I have picked up a usb tuner to check that my line was active as it was an old NTL line which seems to be working fine but haven't checked all channels.

I want to purchase the dual tuner for my duo2 from the site sponsor but not 100% sure if the signal strength is good enough to run the dual tuner is there any way to find out an actual reading as my AGC on the box is showing around 37 and the 28.2 sat signal shows a much higher %.

    Thanks for any help!

The twin hybrid module sometimes needs an attenuator to damp down the signal.

Is there any way of testing or is it a case that the cheap usb tuner is working and so should the official VU Dual tuner?

    Thanks

DVB-C is a different beast to DVB-S. No two setups are the same. Even two rooms in the same house are different owing to differing lengths of wire. That is before taking into account the different tuner sensitivities. The power levels fluctuate too.

Sorry, there is no simple answer. But you should be OK.

If necessary, adjustments would need to be made using powered splitters, normal attenuators, forward path attenuators.
