Sound issues when playing recordings remotely.

I came across this problem when checking out usb wifi when moving from 5.0.013 to 5.0.014

However, this is not a wifi issue.

To cut a long story short, playing a recording of last week's Graeme Norton Show, copied to my pc and using VLC, has very stuttery sound problems.
It plays fine on my ET10K.
It appears to have been recorded with 6 audio channels...
    Code:
    Audio
    ID : 6602 (0x19CA)

I have AC3 downmix set to yes, shouldn't both recordings have the same audio properties?

I haven't found an option to make VLC work properly, but Audio/Audio Track/Disable followed by Audio/Audio Track/Track 1 makes it work ok!!

Window Media Player plays the file ok, but kodi and dream player on a fire tv have the same stuttering sound.

Am I right in saying that AC3 downmix only affects playback on the ET10K, and that the audio stream in the .ts file is not altered in any way during recording?
ie The recording file is a raw copy of the channel being transmitted on the transport stream.

If so, then the problem is with (some of) the remote playback applications I'm using.

Odd that it's taken me so long to notice that VLC doesn't seem to like some types of broadcast.

    Off topic.....
you can stream the 4k channel from receiver to PC. VLC won't play it but MPC will.

...and MPC works fine on the Norton.ts file as well.

Just need to have another look at Kodi and Dream Player on the fire tv.
