    Preparing STB for sale?

    Hey folks.

I am selling on my STB to upgrade to a new one.

Is it as easy as flashing the newest OpenVIX image to the receiver or do I need to do more to wipe settings etc?

You could do a factory reset 1st but i wouldn't advise, as god only knows what might happen with a reflash afters

I thought so. Didn't want to leave any oscam settings etc on it.

When it shows this screen after the flash, is it safe to turn it off at the back so its ready for the new owner to setup?

You don't even need to do that.... I'd delete all recordings (also in deleted folder)
    Then menu/setup/factory reset

I said I would flash it to the newest OpenVIX for the buyer anyway

OK, make sure you delete your recordings as installing latest Vix still keeps your recordings.
    What you upgrade to?

The recordings were on a USB stick which I am keeping

I am updating it to OpenVIX 5.0.013

    Preparing STB for sale?

Also worth pointing out that when you perform an online update or flash using Image Manager, a settings backup is created. This contains can configs too. If the storage device is being included, initialise it too

I hadn't thought about that. Luckily apart from the internal flash there isn't any onboard storage. It was all stored on a flash drive which I'll be keeping
