    VU+ Ultimo 4k, is software (image/drivers) stable and reliable enough already?

    I am buying a new box and I am considering VU+ Ultimo 4k. I was wondering if there are any stability or compatibility issues compared to older boxers that had been out for longer? Does the box crash more often? Are some features not working?

    Things will obviously improve in time but I want to know what is the situation like today.

    Didn't believe the OpenPli guys?
    All these Arm based receivers, tend to be faster, use the same Image base and therefore as stable as any of the Mips based receivers .... main difference for most people..... there is only the Oscam softcam available.
    Also some like the Vu+ receivers have fbc tuners.
    Vu+ specific, things haven't changed much with Vu+ support
    Gigablue Quad 4K & UE 4K
    .........FBC Tuners:
    ------------------> DUR-Line DCR 5-1-8-L4 Multiswitch to 1.5M dish(28.2E)
    ------------------> Spaun SUS 5581/33 NFA Multiswitch to 80 cm dish(19.2E)
    .......................> FBC & DVB-S2X into 90cm dish (27.5W) Opticum robust Unicable LNB
    AX HD61, Edision Osmio 4K+, Zgemma H9Combo, Octagon SF8008 , gbtrio4k, h9se using Legacy ports on multiswitches
    Zgemma H9 C/S into Giga4K

    Thank you both for replying!

    Andy_Hazza, if you don't mind can you say how it compares with Vu Solo 4k? Is it significantly faster in everything, booting, zapping, etc?

    Cheers

    Also, my main reason for wanting Ultimo is to occasionally do recording of 3 to 4 HD channels at the same time (while watching additional channel). Did you ever try that, and if so, were there any issues?

    Hi Kenny. The beauty of the Vu+ Ultimo 4K is the possible expansion of extra tuners. The Solo 4K has a fixed FBC Satellite tuner and a free slot for a pluggable tuner, be it DVB-S or DVB-C/T/T2 but not FBC Cable. On the other hand the Ultimo 4K can have FBC Satellite & FBC Cable. My setup for Satellite is an Inverto Unicable 2 LNB (JESS) and this allows me to record 7 channels on different transponders.

    Does this receiver have a single DVB-S2 FBC tuner or a dual DVB-S2 FBC tuner (occupying one slot, and DVB-C FBC tuner in another)? Does VU+ even make a single DVB-S2 FBC add on tuner?
