    ET8500 upgrade from ET8000?

    I have a ET8000 and it's been ace. I fancy a new more powerful box and the ET8500 is now £169

    Is the 8500 a world apart from a 8000 or should i be looking a different brands?

    I only use one sat tuner at the mo, but i need cable to future proof and i have just started to use IPTV as well as Sat.

    Any recommendations as the box will be my main use for at least two years.

    Main upgrade would be the ability to have FOUR plug and play tuners as opposed to 3.

    I have had ET8000/10000/8500 and although from an engineering perspective (HDD access, internals access) the ET8500 is far nicer and has (for me) nice features like large colour LCD and ability to select more than one image at boot, I don't think it will give you anything more than you currently have in the ET8000.

    So if you want a faster box, for the next 2 years I would go with the Mut@nt HD51 or Octagon SF4008
    Gigablue Quad 4K & UE 4K
    .........FBC Tuners:
    ------------------> GT-Sat unicable LNB to 1.5M dish(28.2E)
    ------------------> Gigablue unicable LNB to 80 cm dish(19.2E)
    .......................> FBC & DVB-S2X into 90cm dish (27.5W) Opticum robust Unicable LNB
    AX HD61, Edision Osmio 4K+, Zgemma H9Combo, Octagon SF8008 , gbtrio4k, h9se using unicable ports
    Zgemma H9 C/S into Giga4K

    Octagon SF4008 seems the best choice. Mutant doesn't seem for me.

    Ironically i bought the Edison OS Mega tripple receiver
    Didn't need 4k. Wanted both cable and sat tuner and a bonus of Kodi. I am aware kodi runs better on dedicated machines but bang for buck this ticked my needs.
    Cheers to all for info.
