i think i will stick with my Ultimo 4k as it has both Sat & Cable FBC Tuners fitted and i need to get a Unicable LNB and fit my Motorized Dish with the way 28.2E is going, or just move my Sky mini Dish to 13 or 19E
plus i have about 3 Receivers that i hardly use now as they are only any use now for Free Sat, so i have just ordered a Denon AVR-X 2300W av Amp from Richer Sounds instead of wasting my money on New Receivers that become obsolete after 2 years because the manufacturers stop updating them so you will buy their latest greatest new one that really is no better than the last one

Well that's true of all electronics, only read this week that the next big TV gizmo is unlikely to be retro fitted to even 2017 TV models, so it's always a case of buyer beware ...... read up as much as you can before buying another expensive turkey

Pity its price is so high and out of reach for casual sat users

So comparing the Giga 4K vs Ultimo 4K both with twin FBC tuner (Dvb-s2) you pay an extra 200 Euro .... some of you guys have deep pockets

Maybe but the Giga doesn't have the 3 tuner buses, it's these little refinements that can cost serious money.

Agree with your comment, and the ability to have the fbc cable tuner is a real (& unique) added bonus for those that need it (80 Euro's more) .... but you only bnefit from the Ultimo if you need 2 FBC tuner cards otherwise the comparison is accurate ........ provided of course the GigaBlue actually delivers
If GiGa show any signs of going through the Vu+ Solo experience, then my box will be on Ebay immediately!

the only thing that makes me a bit apprehensive about buying one on release is that GigaBlue have not made any noises about the new boxes unlike Octagon with the release of the sf4008

... but neither did Mut@nt, but they keep delivering on promises, Octagon talk a lot but find it harder to deliver ... already Kodi has slipped and that was a hard promise....... but with GigaBlue we shall see, they have not always been brilliant at delivering support & fixes, so I am waiting with crossed fingers and toes. Just wanted to try out the FBC angle, which so far has been pretty interesting but not that positive in terms of results..... but early days.
